CES 2019: The 17 start-ups presented on La Poste’s French IoT stand

FAMILY

LANCEY [IN THE SPOTLIGHT]: By combining a battery with a high-performance radiator, Lancey Energy Storage helps users reduce their electricity consumption and its cost too, by storing energy in off-peak hours. All of this while providing cosy heating with easy installation and straightforward settings that can be accessed on a smartphone. [see the sheet]

DRUST: Superdrive is a software solution that analyses data relating to vehicles, driving behaviour, and contextual elements, to provide real-time preventive advice. Developed based on the DRUST.IA intelligence platform, Superdrive helps drivers avoid dangers on the road, before they even arise. [see the sheet]

MAGIC MAKERS [IN THE SPOTLIGHT]: Magic Makers is the first organisation in France providing creative programming workshops for young people aged 6 to 15 years. The company has developed its own teaching method, with innovative tools and activities tailored for the different age groups, based on the work of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today, it has 26 training locations in France. [see the sheet]

EÏSOX: With presence sensors interpreted by an artificial intelligence system, the Eïsox thermostatic head learns users’ lifestyles to optimise the comfort of their living space day after day, and make energy savings. [see the sheet]

HEALTH

POSOS [IN THE SPOTLIGHT]: A software programme which enables health professionals, doctors and pharmacists to access information on any drug by writing a simple question in everyday language in a query field. A search engine, in conjunction with an artificial intelligence module, searches for the information in the many websites and databases accredited by medical professionals, and returns a response that takes into account the terms of the request: the patient’s age and sex, current treatments, etc. This is a genuine decision-support tool. [see the sheet]

CODESNA: The BeWell@Work solution developed by Codesna enables employees’ levels of chronic stress to be assessed in two minutes, without invasive procedures, and a treatment protocol to be defined where necessary. This express diagnostic fits perfectly into any “quality of life at work” process. [see the sheet]

COTTOS MEDICAL: A fully-fledged connected simulator, Cycléo is similar to a traditional bicycle, with pedals, handlebars and brakes, but above all, it offers senior citizens the opportunity to head out on a virtual bike ride. It is auto-configured depending on their motor and cognitive skills thanks to its smart interface. It can improve cognitive performance amongst senior citizens in a fun way whilst closely monitoring their development over time. [see the sheet]

LIFEINA: LifeinaBox is a refrigerator, the smallest in the world, designed for refrigerated, secure transport (between 2 and 8°C) of fragile medications. [see the sheet]

SAMESAME: The Gong application is the first solution co-created by speech therapists, patients and families. It offers aphasia patients the possibility to communicate with the people around them again, whether with family members or caregivers, through an app that’s both easy-to-use and customisable. [see the sheet]

CITY

AXIBIO: Axibio has developed a machine for sorting and compacting bio-waste, linked to a Web portal that manages and monitors it. Aimed at local authorities and at all restaurant and catering professionals, this smart platform is a comprehensive solution for dealing with food waste with a view to optimising its use through methanisation or composting. [see the sheet]

CORTEXIA: A monitoring solution which makes towns and cities cleaner while reducing the costs and environmental impact of cleaning. The various categories of waste are identified using cameras placed on vehicles and linked to an artificial intelligence system which then decides whether or not to mobilise the appropriate sweepers. [see the sheet]

LUSEED: The start-up creates and develops interactive and fun experiences using connected objects, to help brands assess and involve their audience. Its marketing solution, LaBorne, offers an unprecedented experience during events by providing the opportunity for users to interact during their key moments (buzzer, selfie opportunity, etc.) The information gathered through these interactions transforms audiences into qualified prospects. [see the sheet]

STREETCO: A mobile app that enables persons with reduced mobility to simplify their travel. This first collaborative pedestrian GPS suggests a route that is suited to the user's degree of mobility, and then provides real-time information about obstacles during their journey. [see the sheet]

WORK

MAKIDOO [IN THE SPOTLIGHT]: Offered with a monthly subscription, the Makidoo app enables users to create a company video on a smartphone, with a virtual assistant director to guide them through three steps: choosing a scenario, assisted filming, and automatic editing. The user gets a professional result with no specific technical skills. [see the sheet]

MOOVENCY: Kimea (Kinematics Measurement for Ergonomic Assessment) is a type of software that assesses and quantifies the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) in factories, workshops and outdoor work areas using just one single depth camera, in line with the principles of Kinect technology. The software automatically and accurately estimates MSD risks as operators go about their work. [see the sheet]

CLEVY: A conversational platform which is revolutionising the way in which chatbots are created by offering a solution that can be directly accessed and used by people in non-technical trades. It enables companies to automate the answer to employee questions in various fields and does not require IT development knowledge to master. [see the sheet]

MOFFI: The Moffi.IO app enables companies, incubators, co-working spaces and universities to manage the availability of the workspaces they make available to mobile workers. The same solution makes it very easy for professionals to book a workspace when they travel. [see the sheet]
