A cutting-edge parcel platform in 2020

In order to support growth in the parcel market, La Poste has created a new Colissimo handling platform in Arcs-sur-Argens (Var).

The Colissimo Arcs-sur-Argens platform, for which construction work began last autumn, will open in the second quarter of 2020. The real estate aspect of the project is being managed by Poste Immo, Le Groupe La Poste’s property subsidiary.

The future platform will have an area of 12,000 m² and will be located 12 km from Draguignan. It will be built on a 4.8 hectare plot within the Parc des Bréguières, near to the main roads and motorways (particularly the A8 and the RN7). This new Colissimo platform will have a new generation sorter that, once the platform opens, will be able to handle up to 80,000 parcels per day. All of the facilities (conveyors, information systems, etc.) will help with the full range of activities, particularly handling work. The future installations will guarantee greater comfort at work for employees and increased efficacy in the management of parcel flows.

This platform will set a benchmark in terms of logistics optimisation, particularly with the use of swap bodies (mobile containers transported by a trailer truck) which will allow each lorry to carry 30% more parcels on average.

The future building, by the developer Barjane, aims to achieve both ISO 14001 and BREEAM Good certification. It will be composed of around 11,000 m² of surfaces for parcel handling activity, plus 800 m² of offices. The construction project will have a timber frame, natural lighting and superior insulation, and will be designed with the installation of a solar power plant in mind.

Dracénoise agglomeration “Guaranteeing jobs and dynamism on the site”

“The Bréguières logistics site is the ultimate example of these major projects, supported by elected officials of the Communauté d’Agglomération Dracénoise. Since it opened in 2009, this site has been completely transformed. It is now a coherent and environmentally friendly whole, putting sustainable development at the heart of its site development policy. The project for the construction of a new Colissimo platform on this site follows the same development ethos, in terms of employment, economic dynamism and respect for the environment.”

Olivier Audibert-Troin President of the Communauté d'Agglomération Dracénoise

The Bréguières site “A sustainable building”

We are delighted to welcome Le Groupe La Poste’s new Colissimo platform to the Parc des Bréguières. This sustainably designed building aims for both ISO 14001 and BREEAM Good certification, and is subject to the application of a green project charter, to keep workers safe and limit environmental disruption.

On site and within the building, everything is designed to maximise employee comfort and allow companies to focus on their core business. The Barjane team is present 24 hours a day, to welcome visitors, and to manage maintenance of the site and the 20 hectares of green space, which provides a place for users to relax.”
